The Push Floor is a simple machine
consisting of a series of hydraulically driven
Push Frames (or ladders) that reciprocate along
the bunker floor. Each Push Frame is located on
'bearing beams' running the length of the installation;
they terminate at a cross beam to which the hydraulic
cylinders are attached. The cylinder action pushes,
or pulls, the material towards one end of the
bunker; the material normally passes beneath an
adjustable 'Stopper' gate then falls into a metering
screw conveyor for discharge. The conveyor is
kept full by the action of the Push Frames thereby
allowing accurate material metering. The Push
Floor can also discharge directly into a screw
feeder, screw or belt conveyor.
